Body Found in Boyle Heights

UPDATE:
According to Detective Jerry Gibson of the LAPD Central Bureau Homicide, at approximately 2:45 the victim was walking on 4th Street when the suspects pulled up. It was then, Gibson said, that one suspect exited the car and fired multiple rounds at the victim. Gibson added that the suspect fired at least 10 rounds which struck and killed the victim.
“At this time we are not going to say that [this is gang related] because we have not confirmed it,” Gibson said.
Los Angeles County Fire officials responded to a shooting off of East 4th street and South Concord Street where they pronounced a male victim dead at approximately 3 p.m.
LAPD arrived on the scene where they roped off the street to begin their investigation.
According to witnesses, a young man was walking down the street when a white car pulled up. It was then, witnesses said, that a suspect jumped out of the car and shot and killed the victim.
Detectives on scene declined to comment, and told reporters that the LAPD Media line would answer questions. This story is still ongoing and will be updated with more information as it is released.
